Why I Give...

When Sister Joseph Andre Hafertepe lived at NLC, she made a decision that would impact many lives--that decision was to make a gift that would serve others even after her death. She worked with her family to ensure NLC would continue to serve its mission of creatively serving the needs of aging persons for many years to come. Here's what her family has to say....

“Our cousin, Sister Joseph Andre Hafertepe, introduced us to Nazareth, and we were extremely impressed by the excellent care and loving treatment from the staff. Every guest seemed special…no one was ignored…in fact, attention appeared to be lavished on everyone. My dad was previously impressed enough to donate the patio for everyone’s relaxation.

We are thankful our cousin enjoyed her last six months at Nazareth. She wanted her family’s estate to be used for the care of her fellow sisters.

The grounds and the physical structures are excellent, but overall, Nazareth’s greatest attributes are the staff and the care.”

Caregiver Gina Soressi made these comments in a letter sent with a donation in memory of her grandmother, Anna Rocchio:

"I was fortunate enough to visit your facility last year and observe the fine care your Center provides for its residents. One of your residents is Grandma's younger sister, and her name is Sister Antonia Palumbo. My cousin and I came to St. Louis to celebrate Aunt Sister's anniversary, and we were delighted to visit with the rest of our St. Louis family.

I know that Grandma appreciated knowing that not only her sister, but also her sister-in-law and brother were cared for at Nazareth. I hope that in a small way, this donation, in Grandma's memory, will help you continue your work."
