Long-Term Care at McGovern Commons, Nazareth's Skilled Nursing Home in St Louis
We're with you all the way
Quality nursing services are provided by a dedicated staff. Individual care plans and attention to personal histories and preferences contribute to the residents feeling "at home."
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - June 27, 2016
Staff, volunteers and family members work together to ensure the residents' sense of belonging. The long-standing tradition of family which has characterized Nazareth since 1872 opens the way for the residents of today to feel at home.
What shows feeling at home any better than an ice cream parlor? We have moved the previously hard to find ice cream parlor right inside our newly
renovated main entrance to the McGovern Commons. We are ready to serve sweet treats and handmade items, created by our awesome volunteers.
Annual surveys of residents and their families show high levels of satisfaction with Nazareth and the care provided. Monthly Resident Council meetings allow residents the opportunity to interact with various department managers.
Nazareth's not-for-profit status implies quality. According to figures based on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services data, not-for-profit nursing homes:
- Provide more hours of care per patient day;
- Invest more resources in resident care; and,
- Average significantly fewer deficiencies than for-profit homes.

Nazareth Living Center has an active palliative care team with the goal of making our residents as comfortable as possible, while allowing them to have a high quality of life through its many integrated alternative therapies. Our palliative care team works to incorporate alternative therapies when they see indications of stress from a resident who may be experiencing pain or discomfort. Some of the integrative health modalities that are used are massage, acupuncture, music therapy and aroma therapy.
