DONATING

Responding to the needs of individual residents in a creative, caring way is a hallmark of Nazareth Living Center. The generous spirit of friends helps support our mission by providing resources necessary to maintain the highest level of comfort and develop new programs and services for our residents. Since Nazareth Living Center is a 501c(3), non-profit organization, your gifts are tax deductible in accordance with government tax regulations and can be placed in any of the following funds:

Annual Fund
The Annual Fund serves as a reserve to support operating expenses or other needs through gifts that are unrestricted (not identified for specific uses). Nazareth has many ongoing needs to keep our campus up-to-date in order to better serve our residents.

Annual Restricted Fund
The Annual Restricted fund allows donors to choose how they would like to have their gift used (e.g. items on the Nazareth Living Center Wish List or any program/project designated.

The Capital Fund
We take pride in the care and comfort we provide for our residents. In order to maintain this, the need for capital improvements increases as our campus ages. Keeping our residents comfortable means constant maintenance of our buildings, updating furnishings and resident rooms.

The Benevolence Fund
The Benevolence Fund was established to offer assistance to residents who have exhausted their financial resources. With the budget cuts to the Missouri Medicaid program, it is anticipated more and more seniors will find themselves in need of assistance. Your support of this fund allows us to provide resources to seniors in need.

There are many ways to give:

Nazareth Benevolence Society
Nazareth Living Center recognizes that our donors, whether individual or corporate, enable us to continue to carry on the healing mission of Jesus - ministering with compassion and responding creatively to the needs of older adults. Accordingly, Nazareth acknowledges that importance through its Nazareth Benevolence Society which recognizes those donors who have made and continue to make substantial contributions to Nazareth. Donors will be recognized by the naming of leaves on the permanent donor recognition tree on the Donor Wall displayed in McGovern Commons at Nazareth. New additions and upgraded levels on the tree are announced at the Donor Recognition Dinner held each spring. However, leaves will be placed on the tree throughout the year acknowledging minimum level gifts.

Individuals and organizations that have donated a minimum of $1,000, $5,000, or $10,000 to Nazareth (either as single or cumulative donations) will be eligible for recognition on the Donor Wall with an engraved silver, brass, or copper leaf on the recognition tree. Donors who have given in excess of $20,000 (either as single or cumulative donations) will be eligible for recognition on the Donor Wall with an engraved dedication stone at the base of the tree. All categories represent single and cumulative donations beginning in 2004.

Benefits of the Nazareth Benevolence Society include:

  • Designation as a member of the Nazareth Benevolence Society in publications
  • Acknowledgement with an engraved leaf on the donor recognition tree
  • Acknowledgement with an engraved dedication stone at the base of the tree
  • Opportunities to make a difference on projects important to Nazareth Living Center
  • Invitation to an annual Donor Recognition Dinner

Special Events
Each year, Nazareth Living Center hosts several special events including a golf tournament, mouse races, a trivia night , quilt raffles and craft fairs featuring hand-made items by Nazareth volunteers and residents. Proceeds from these events support Nazareth programs and services to our residents.

Wish List
Nazareth needs your help in continuing our mission of creatively serving residents. You can "make a wish come true" by assisting with procurement of items on the Nazareth Living Center Wish List. Please consider this as a special giving opportunity.

Tribute and Memorial Gift Program
Tribute and memorial gifts are made in honor or memory of a loved one or friend. When you make a tax-deductible memorial or tribute gift, we'll send a note to the family of the person(s) honored or memorialized announcing your gift. It's a wonderful way to let someone know you're thinking about them.

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs will match your contribution dollar for dollar, which can double your contribution. Please check with your employer's human resources department to determine if they offer a matching gift program. You may mail your completed matching gift form to: Nazareth Living Center, Development Department, 2 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO 63129.

Planned Giving
Your planned gift integrates your generosity with your overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals to maximize benefits to both you and Nazareth Living Center. Planned gifts typically come from a donor's assets rather than income and can be either outright or deferred. Whether through your will, insurance policy, an income-producing agreement, or a trust, residents of Nazareth Living Center can benefit from your generosity.
